Women of Zaadz Calendar

Posted on Jan 25th, 2006 by Wil : unEYEr1 Wil
Yes the wierd workings of wil's mind...

I was just reading yet another amazing post.

And was just realizing how in love I am with the women of zaadz!

the discussions, the compassion, the thinking, the wisdom, the understanding, the insights, all absolutely incredible...

And I won't name names because you all are sooo many and sooo amazing...

So then a vision popped into my head...the Women of Zaadz Calendar...except their were no pictures, not to say there shouldn't be...but it is your posts, your thinking that I am so in love with.

Then I was thinking about wars and battles and a concept that was bantied about previously about if women were leaders they wouldn't be sending other women's sons into battle so easily...

And then I was back to being enamoured with the love and thought and posts you've provided.

I am just publicly putting out a thank you and appreciation for what I see as a major impetus to the change that will happen in this world thru zaadz and that is from you, the Women of Zaadz!

I agree with you Will.
I can’t believe some of the stuff that I am reading here.
Amazing to be a part of it.
Who knows? A calender could be an option.
Who wants to compile the content?
There’s deffinitely no shortage.

Interesting. I won’t tell you the things going through my mind as I clicked the link, but your idea is cool too! Ha.

I have had many good learning experiences here on Zaadz, and a lot of the more compassionate, passionate, and emotional ones were from the women on board. Not to say that us guys haven’t been posting poignant stuff! We still rock, but a Men of Zaadz calendar just doesn’t have the same appeal.

I must say that I am really moved by the men of Zaadz. I am so excited to see such openness, warmth and love from such beautiful people. I am sure that I’m not alone! So, you might indeed find an audience with that Men of Zaadz calendar :).                                                                                                                                                                                                             .

I once watched a documentary called Tough Guise that spoke of the unhealthy portrayal of “masculinity” in our culture and how it has been defined as destructive, violent, and controlling. The film also discussed how men and boys have been conditioned with this thinking as they try to reach a twisted standard of being “manly.” Boys learn from their male role models and the depictions in media and perpetuate the violence; there you have a cycle. I know that this is, of course, not true of all men, because I associate with a lot of beautiful conscious guys and I see such great things here on zaadz. But, it does perpetuate a culture in which we all lose out and the seeds and weeds of such a confused masculinity spring up all over the place an impact us everyday and become normalized! We live with the consequences. I have often wondered what a positive representation of masculinity would look like and I think many of you on zaadz exhibit it. I am excited to think of a new image of masculinity becoming available for young boys in our society, in all societies. It really can change the world! So, thank you for being beacons.

Here’s a link about that documentary. It was designed for men and boys in high school and college but it has become quite popular in Gender Studies circles.

Maybe we can compile a best of zaadz for each month/week. with a small discussion about a few blogs, with links to each blog. - we could also link to the most read blogs here on zaadz.

on the topic of a calendar… i have noticed that zaadzters with pictures of women as avatar icons are getting a lot of clicks.  - maybe i’ll change my icon and see if it affects my mindshare?

I don’t know Jessica, crying at movies…even comedies, when they strike a chord, reference an underlying spiritual truth…or even when I read posts that just touch my heart.  It is a little rough sometimes..  And I’m not talking about a post regarding some social injustice or unbelievably hideous crime…my eyes are watering as I see people grow in consciousness, develop new understandings, unviel awesome feelings…maybe there is too much estrogen in tofu….

It is so refreshing to be surrounded by men who recognize the power of feminine energy…. in others as well as in themselves. What a blessing you guys all are. How cool that we all get to bring our best and dance together to the tune of the Greater Good.

I second mscaprikell in thanking you.

P.S. Men who are conscious enough to cry are sexy. (wink)
